Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Service Description
FbDelete is a two-part service. The FbDelete website and account (fbdelete.com) let you register, verify your Facebook identity via official OAuth, and track your cleanup activity. Separately, the optional FbDelete browser extension adds a bulk "Select All" and delete control to Facebook Messenger by automating clicks on Facebook's own interface, on your behalf, inside your own browser.
2. Acceptance
By using FbDelete, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Installing and using the browser extension is optional and constitutes separate, additional acceptance of the risks described in Section 5.
3. Account
You create a FbDelete account with an email and password, independent of Facebook. You may additionally connect a Facebook account via official OAuth to verify your identity. You are responsible for maintaining the security of both your FbDelete credentials and your Facebook account. You may delete your FbDelete account, or disconnect Facebook alone, at any time.
4. Permitted Use
FbDelete is for personal use only, to manage your own Messenger conversations. You agree not to use the service against accounts you do not own, or in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of any third party.
5. No Warranty & Automation Risk
FbDelete is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Facebook does not offer an official bulk-delete API for personal messages; the browser extension works by automating Facebook's own web interface, which is not an approved Meta integration. This means: (a) it can break or behave unexpectedly whenever Facebook changes its layout, (b) deletions performed through it are permanent and cannot be undone or recovered by FbDelete, and (c) Facebook may, at its discretion, flag, rate-limit, or restrict accounts it detects using automated tools, regardless of intent. You use the extension entirely at your own risk and discretion.
6. Limitation of Liability
FbDelete is not liable for any data loss, account restriction, suspension, or other consequences arising from your use of the FbDelete website, your FbDelete account, or the browser extension.
7. Meta Compliance
FbDelete is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with Meta Platforms, Inc. The FbDelete website uses only official Meta OAuth endpoints and requests only the "public_profile" permission. The browser extension automates the Facebook/Messenger web interface rather than using an official API, because no official bulk-delete API exists; this may be inconsistent with Meta's Terms of Service regarding automated access, and you accept that risk by choosing to install and use it.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
